Saving the island in this speculative future is neither a priority nor a functional infrastructure reaction. The fiction rises on sunken Treasure Island future: Department of Degrowth. An ecological body opposes the island's sinking luxury investment projects. But while doing this, D.D. turns the island into a mine as a capitalist approach. The island turns the construction process upside down, transforms the landfill soil, and uses it as a resource. Using the Anastylosis technique, infill soil is blended with new structures to exploit Treasure Island’s natural degradation to create an ecological monument. Treasure Island leftovers reincarnate as a symbol of Anthropcone in the San Francisco Watershed. The island becomes a monument of solace, rethinking, discovering, and observing the Anthropocene. Once there was an island. Now its soil lives in these reefs, ruins, and blocks.
